You can also get your whole community involved by hosting a sporting event! They are a great way to spread the word, raise money and have fun at the same time. The three most popular sports involved in breast cancer awareness campaigns are football, volleyball and running. Here some helpful links to help you plan your own sporting event:

Football

A Crucial Catch is the NFL’s main breast cancer awareness campaign done in collaboration with the American Cancer Society. Pink merchandise worn by NFL players, teams and coaches during games is auctioned off to raise money to make mammograms more accessible for women.

Basketball

If your town is big on Basketball, try partnering with the Play for Kay foundation. Their website features a lot of great ideas for fund raising events such as hosting a sports day at your local school where all kinds of sports (such as baseball and softball) are also dedicated to raising funds for breast cancer survivors.

Volleyball
